Early 20th Century Japanese 950 Sterling “Fu” (Fortune) & “Shou” (Longevity) Cut-Outs and Bambbo Handle Design Spoons- A Pair

$330

  • This sophisticated pair of vintage Japanese spoons is crafted from 950 sterling silver, a standard of purity higher than traditional Western sterling. Each spoon features a slender, solid handle designed to resemble a natural stalk of bamboo, leading down to a bowl adorned with a delicate fan motif at the neck. The center of each bowl is artistically pierced with cut-out calligraphy; one features the character for “Good Fortune” (Fu) and the other for “Longevity” (Shou), creating a symbolic duo representing blessings and long life. Marked “STERLING 950” on the reverse, these openwork utensils are ideal for use as olive spoons, bonbon servers, or simply as elegant display pieces in a silver collection.
